Digital X-ray
A technique that uses an x-ray probe fed directly to a computer…
Digital X-ray Benefits
- Up to 80% reduction of radiation for patients
- Faster – images available in 8 seconds, not 8 minutes
- Environmentally friendly – no caustic film development chemicals are released into the city sewer system
Computed Digital Radiography
A new diagnostic tool has become available in dentistry that allows us to more precisely evaluate your oral health than ever before. Called “Computed Digital Radiography” (CDR), this machine is a computer-based dental x-ray system that displays images in seconds on a computer monitor so that you can see them and understand more readily what’s going on in your mouth. These images can be processed as either photographs (like an intra-oral camera) or as x-rays.
Sharper images with minimal distortion results in a clearer x-ray for a more definitive diagnosis. The CDR uses much lower doses of radiation than regular x-rays – up to 80% less – the lowest dosage of any system currently being used.
Full-color images can be printed on a plain (though specially treated) paper and can be easily duplicated for referrals and insurance benefit assessment.
Faster, safer and more comprehensive… that’s Computed Digital Radiography. It’s even environmentally better because it eliminates chemical processing. There is no silver oxide pollution of our water supply.
