Complete CV

Dr. David Winn practices cosmetic and restorative dentistry in Colorado Springs. He has avidly pursued continuing education across the spectrum of dentistry, including six continuum courses at the L. D. Pankey institute for Advanced Dental Education. In the last five years he has concentrated on lasers and adhesive dentistry. He has consulted with several manufacturers in product development, and has made original contributions in the relatively new field of laser bleaching.

He is one of five clinical evaluators who’s work was the clinical basis for the recent FDA approval of the Erbium YAG laser, the first laser approved for hard tissue use in the United States. He also developed the protocols for the Diode laser [soft tissue], and presented them at the Academy of Laser Dentistry annual meeting in 1996. He has presented clinical labs on the use of lasers for the ADA and the AGD.

Part of his time is now spent in educating dentists in his practice-based hands on laser training course. Publications include both print and video media, and his most recent work has been with CAESY Advanced Learning Technologies for their Masters Video Series. He currently employs three different wavelengths of lasers in everyday practice and is a leader in the area of developing new applications for lasers in dentistry. He has lectured nationally and internationally on the use of lasers in Dentistry, and is a member of the faculty of Dentistry for the 21st Century: Aesthetics and High Tech Symposium. He is married, and his wife Lois is a pharmacist. They have three children.
